Brown rayon dress with puff sleeves

I got a new dress this weekend! It’s not quite what I was expecting: The advert said it was made of acetate, so I was expecting a very shiny, satiny material. Instead I think it’s rayon, with gold metallic threads woven throughout.

Still, there’s a lot to like about it. Rayon is certainly soft too, and very light so I will be glad to have this when it’s summertime and warm out. I like the smocked neckline, which you can see in the bodice closeup photo, and I Iike the smocking at the waist and cuffs. It’s a perfect fit… now I know that my diet was enough to get me into a size 10, which I haven’t worn since college. There is a matching tie belt but I don’t really know what to do with it. It’s too short to make a bow in back, and it’s so wide that it tends to roll up at my waist.

Anyway, see the photos for a better view.
